(source: Greg Baker/AFP)lucspaceI came across a description of the patch design (corrected Google translation): The overall shape of the Shenzhou 12 manned mission logo uses a circle to express the traditional Chinese concept of "a place with a round sky." The color is mainly red and blue. Red represents Chinese red and the passion of space exploration, and blue symbolizes the vast universe and scientific exploration. The core element is the number "12" formed by the combination of the Chinese "dragon" and the red banner. The three dragons appear in an overlapping state, from near to far, with a sense of integrity and unity. The "space station," "astronaut out of the cabin" and "robotic arm" elements represent parts of the mission of the Shenzhou 12 spacecraft. The background is deep space, and the surrounding stars symbolize the astronauts who performed previous missions, the logo of China's Manned Spaceflight Agency, and the part of the Earth showing the location of China. The olive leaf symbolizes China's policy of peaceful development.Robert PearlmanChina Post, the country's postal service, has produced a stamp set for the mission that includes a replica patch (though it differs in some ways from the patch worn by the crew and by those in mission control). There are third party resellers offering the set on Chinese websites (e.g. Taobao), but they don't appear to ship outside China and I have yet to find it listed on the China Post website (navigating through machine translation is proving difficult). BrennanThe correct size would be 8cm. In my communications with AB Emblem, they understood that in advance, but have chosen to continue with the 10cm size for their Chinese patches. This would keep them in line with their previously released Chinese space program patches. Kevin T. RandallMany thanks for that information Paul. That would make sense to keep these three current/new patches the same size (10 cm) as the previous ones in this series.
